Antonino Graziano – lights-lamb-fowl

Antonino Graziano

CONCEPT / SYNOPSIS OF THE WORK

Pawtuxet, Rhode Island, 1771. The Fenner family witnesses the intervention of the town militia at the villa on the neighboring hill. A series of incomprehensible events unfold on that hill. A comic adaptation of a section of The Case of Charles Dexter Ward (1927), a lesser-known novel by H.P. Lovecraft. The dialogues, as faithful as possible to popular late 18th-century American English, are hand-lettered with a brush. Every formal element of the pages attempts to transfigure the era of the “Salem witches.”
