Marta Brambilla – Sistemi complessi

A block of marble, carved out with openings, is filled with bread dough and baked. The marble shapes the dough as it rises, determining the paths it takes. But the marble is in turn marked: stained and burned by each baking, it carries the trace of every encounter. The shape of the bread is never the same twice. Nor is the marble. What emerges is not planned but negotiated.
