CONCEPT / SYNOPSIS OF THE WORK
The four gilded wooden reliquaries of the Cathedral of Villafranca, dating between the 17th and 19th centuries, underwent restoration, diagnostic investigations, and environmental monitoring. Central to the project was the testing of the non-toxic solvent DBE for the removal of altered bronze powder paint (porporina), aimed at identifying the most effective methodology while respecting the original materials.
