Giuseppe Barresi – Clothescape

Giuseppe Barresi

CONCEPT / SYNOPSIS OF THE WORK

Clothescape reflects on the Anthropocene and the impact of the textile industry on the landscape, from Ghana to the Atacama Desert. Drawing from his family’s experience in tailoring, the author transforms out-of-style clothes and textile waste into constructed landscapes using a still life approach. The digital photographs are combined with skies from his personal archive to create an optical illusion and imagine new possibilities for reuse.
