CONCEPT / SYNOPSIS OF THE WORK
In the Apuan Alps, home of marble, among quarries shrouded in fog, a triptych captures the rift between man and nature. An isolated block, a pile of waste, a floor carved with cracks: three fragments of territory that, juxtaposed, cease to be mere chronicle and become artwork. As Gestalt theory teaches, the whole exceeds the sum of its parts, revealing the mountain not for what it is, but for what we have taken from it.
