VANESSA BASILE
CONCEPT / SYNOPSIS OF THE WORK
The project reinterprets the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice in the 21st century through the theme of digital memory. After Eurydice’s sudden death, Orpheus attempts to keep her alive by using her social media profiles, until the algorithm detects anomalous activity and closes them, decreeing her second death. The staging is immersive and non-frontal: the viewer follows Orpheus through the rooms of a house, experiencing his grief and his ambiguous relationship with digital ghosts.
