Valentina Sandrin – Stracci, di Germano Sartelli, proveniente dal MAMbo – Museo d’Arte Moderna di Bologna

VALENTINA SANDRIN

CONCEPT / SYNOPSIS OF THE WORK

The thesis addresses the restoration of the work Stracci (1958) by Germano Sartelli, a mixed-media collage from the MAMbo collection composed of fabrics, earths, rusty substances, and dried leaves. The extreme fragility of the materials required a highly selective intervention, including non-contact electrostatic cleaning, spray consolidation, and the optimization of the display system. Furthermore, the research evaluated the use of cellulose nanocrystals (CNC) for the consolidation of plant elements.
